The construction had also begun at the place; the foundation was dug upto 3 sqyd, when a saint appeared and asked who directed to build the grand masjid at the place. Building supervisor Mirza faizullah Baig and Hunarmand Khan were present there’ they told the saint traveler that the masjid was being constructed on the direction of Sultan Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah. The saint warned ‘don’t ever build masjid here’ every onlooker will criticize on ruler’s wisdom and the construction will remain incomplete by the permission of God.’ The words of the clergy man was conveyed to the king as it was. Sultan thought it as the heavenly guidance and asked the saint to choose a suitable place himself. The saint pointed at the place where the Makkah Masjid exists today and asked to lay foundation there. He told that here the masjid will always be filled with namazis and people will take the name of Mohammed Qutub Shah with reverence.
