The government has allocated 1030 Cr for minority welfare but the Minority Welfare Department is reluctant to release even Rs/- 3 lakh to pay the salaries of workers and security guards of historical Makkah Masjid and Shahi Masjid. Even as the January also ended, the Imam, Khateeb, Muezzin, and other workers of Makkah Masjid and Shahi Masjid have not received the salary of December 2014 itself. Similarly the home guards deployed at the historical Makkah Masjid for its security are also deprived of salary of December 2014.
The workers were not even paid the bonus which government had released in recognition of their services during the month of Ramadan. In this connection the government had released 2.04 lakh to the Minority Welfare department towards payment of one month salary as bonus but the same has not been distributed among the workers by the department so far.
