Makkah Masjid renovation shelved, CCTV cameras defunct, employees didn’t get salaries

Hyderabad: Govt. representatives have been making promises for the renovation and repair of Makkah Masjid. Last year, in May Dy. CM of Telangana State, Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali had declared that Govt. would allocate Rs. 10 crore for the repair works of Makkah Masjid. Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare had also accompanied him on this occasion but after the lapse of so many months, Makkah Masjid is waiting for the promises to be fulfilled. The employees of Makkah Masjid did not get salaries since Govt. did not release Rs. 10 crore. The promise of Mr. Mahmood Ali could not fulfill. Mr. Mohammed Zahid who is incharge of maintaining sound system of Makkah Masjid did not get salary for the past 11 months. CCTV cameras installed inside and outside of Makkah Masjid are not functioning properly. The security arrangements of Makkah Masjid have been neglected. It seems that there are no coordination between various departments of the Govt. which do not care about the promises made by politicians.

There is no parking space for the worshippers. Petty traders have been occupying its footpath. Dept. of Minorities Welfare had planned to allocate Rs. 45 lakh for the installation of CCTV Cameras. Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel has forwarded this proposal to the Govt.
