Makkah Masjid incident: Minorities Commission seeks report from Commissioner of Police

(Siasat News) A.P. State Minorities Commission has decided to celebrate 18th December as “Minorities Rights Day”. A seminar will be held from 11 am to 5 pm on that day at Jubilee Hall, Public Garden. Chief Justice of A.P. Justice Kalyanjyothi Sengupta, DGP Mr. B. Prasad Rao, Chairman of Minorities Commission, V.C’s of Universities and other social activists who are struggling for the rights of Minorities will participate in the seminar. Resolutions will be pass in the seminar.

Mr. Abid Rasool Khan, Chairman A.P. State Minorities Commission along with Sardar Surjeet Singh and Mr. Goutham Kumar Jain, while talking to newsmen told that Commission has taken a serious note about the incidents occurred on 6th December at Makkah Masjid and sought a detailed report from the Commissioner of Police as to what action police has taken against the accused. The Commission fixed the last date for the receipt of report as 21st December so that appropriate steps could be taken. Commission has also contacted Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India and Ambassador of India at Libya for arranging to sent the dead body of Prof. Najmuddin who was assassinated in Libya. It is said that a positive response has been received from both these institutions.

Mr. Abid Rasool Khan told that he is making an attempt to get Rs. 5.00 Lakh as ex-gratia to the family members of the deceased Professor. He also informed that at the instance of the Commission, Director of Animal Husbandry has agreed to appoint Mr. Salim Bin Mohammed whose father had died. He has assured that appointment orders will be issued within 15 days. Mr. Baljeeth Singh, Deputy Executive Engineer has requested the Commission to request the state Govt. to provide a job to his son as he is not in a position to work on health grounds. S.P. of Medak submitted a report on the assassination of Muslim youths in Medak. The traders of Nampally had submitted a memorandum complaining that Metro Rail Authorities are dismantling the shops of only one side. The Commission issued notice to the concerned officers. They assured that the shops of both the side will be dismantled.

Commission also received complaints regarding the Waqf properties belonging to Dargah Ujale Shah, Saidabad, Dargah Hzt. Abdul Wahab Sab, Toli Masjid Karwan, Muslim Maternity Hospital, Chaderghat. The Commission issued notices to CEO Waqf Board and District Collectors instructing them to submit the reports before 21st December. He also informed that investigation have already started about the Waqf property of Nabi Molvi Akbar, Pathergathi. Mr. Abid Rasool Khan also told that jail officers have been issued notices to furnish the details of the Muslim youths undergoing imprisonment so that steps could be taken to provide legal assistance. The Commission has constituted a four member committee to review such cases. The committee includes Justice E. Ismail, former member of State Human Right Commission Mr. Abdul Qadeer, Rtd. DIG, Mr. Osman Shaheed, Advocate and Member State Legal Service Authority and Major Syed Ghouse Mohiuddin Quadri, President of “Help Hyderabad” which is an NGO struggling for the rights of Minorities.
