Home guards deployed to provide security to the historical Makkah Masjid are compelled to make rounds of Minority Welfare Department to get their monthly pay. Although the other employees are getting their salaries on time the home guards are not paid their monthly salary on time.
As of now nearly 15 home guards are deployed on security duty at Makkah masjid and the Minority Welfare Department is responsible to pay their salaries. Even after 20 days have passed, salary for the month of December has not been paid. Delay in getting salaries lands the home guards in financial crisis. It is said that when the home guards approach the superintendent in connection with the salaries, instead of representing the matter with high officials, he humiliates the home guards.
