Makkah Masjid Bomb Blast Case hearing started

After a long gap of seven years, the hearing of Makkah Masjid Bomb Blast case started yesterday at criminal court, Nampally. The statements of two witnesses were recorded. Defense Counsel interrogated them. The hearing is continuing at the court of First Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge. It is a special court for National Investigation Agency also. The witness were: Mr. Mirza Abdullah Baig, former Head Constable of Husaini Alam Police Station and Mr. Mohammed Mannan, Manager of Makkah Masjid. In the Bomb Blast Case occurred on 18th May 2007, eight Muslim worshippers were killed in Makkah Masjid. The witnesses appraised the situation on that day. Defense Counsel, Mr. Rajvardhan Reddy asked the witnesses about the bomb and other articles. He also told the court that the investigation agency did not produce the recorded statements of Husaini Alam Police Station in the court. The hearing will continue every day. The statements of three more witnesses will be recorded today.

It may be noted that National Investigation Agency had arrested the alleged accused Swamy Seemanand, Bharat Bhai, Rajindra Chowdry, Devender Gupta and Lokesh Sharma and filed charge sheets against them whereas three accused persons are still absconding. The investigating agency will produce 74 witnesses in the court.
