Even after the lapse of two weeks, the employees of Makka Masjid did not get their salaries. Makka Masjid has 30 employees and 20 home guards. It may be remembered that 3 months back, home guards had gone on strike due to non-payment of their salaries. Police officials contacted the Dept. of Minorities Welfare and got their salaries. At that time an assurance was given that in future salaries will be given on time.
The employees say that for the past 8-10 months salaries are being paid regularly. The total salary bill of Makka Masjid employees is Rs. 3 lakh per month. Even this amount is not released on time. The employees live in rented houses and it becomes very difficult for them if they don’t get salaries on time. The Dept. of Minorities Welfare should take immediate action to release their salaries.
