Make-A-Wish Foundation brings smile on the faces of children battling with life-threatening illness

Make-A-Wish Foundation is dedicated to granting the most cherished wish of children with life-threatening illnesses. Make-A-Wish Foundation of India is affiliated to Make-A-Wish Foundation International.

Recently Make-A-Wish Foundation India fulfilled the wish of 10-year-old boy, Sadiq. Sadiq’s wish was to become a police commissioner and catch rowdies. According to Sadiq’s father Mohammed Raheemuddin, after his wish was granted, Sadiq was happy as never before.

The creation of Make-A-Wish was inspired in the U.S. in 1980 by the fulfillment of a wish of a 7-year-old boy with leukemia named Chris Greicius, who wished to be a policeman. His mother, several friends and a group of police officers, granted his wish.

The Indian affiliate was established in 1996 since then wishes of over 22000 children have been granted. The foundation fulfills four types of wishes Travel Wishes: ‘I wish to go’, Occupational Wishes: ‘I wish to be’, Celebrity Wishes: ‘I wish to meet’ and Gift Wishes: ‘I wish to have’.
