Make Telangana convention a success:Bandaru

Hyderabad, February 01: Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader Bandaru Dattatreya on Wednesday called upon all Telangana leaders committed to the cause of a separate state, to make the massive convention to be organized in the city on February 11 a grand success.

Talking to media persons here while conducting pada yatras in the city for the successful organization of Poruyatra by BJP state unit president G Kishan Reddy across the Telangana districts, Dattatreya asked people to make the convention to be organized at Nizam College grounds a `big event’.

He appealed to Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof M Kodandaram to mobilize all JACs towards mounting pressure on the Centre to introduce a bill on Telangana state before the Budget session of Parliament.

Alleging that the Centre hatched a conspiracy to declare Hyderabad the second capital of the country, he said BJP would oppose this proposal. He said Telangana without Hyderabad was `a head without a torso,’ and added that smaller states would be better for implementation of government programmes and taking the administration to the doorsteps of people.

“The country’s development can be achieved with formation of smaller states,” he said and pointed out that his party was committed to this idea. He reiterated that only BJP would fulfill the dreams and aspirations of Telangana people.
