Make “Ram Rajya” of Mahatma Gandhi a reality: Venkaiah Naidu

Hyderabad: Vice President of India, Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu while addressing a grand reception given by TRS Govt. of Telangana expressed his anxiety on the disruption of both the houses of Parliament and said that there is a need to function with the true spirit of democracy. The members of the ruling party should give opportunity to the opposition members to take part in the discussions without any interruptions. He also spoke on “Ram Rajya” concept during the address.

As Vice President of India, Mr. Naidu has now become Chairman of Rajya Sabha also. He referred to the comments made by former President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee that Parliament should exchange views, argue and take decisions without any interruptions. This should be borne in mind by the members.

Govt. makes some proposals and opposition opposes it but at last a decision is taken in the House.

He impressed upon the need for the Parliament, State Assemblies and Councils to function in a peaceful manner.

He said that we should struggle for making the concept of “Ram Rajya” a reality as was proposed by Mahatma Gandhi. It does not mean a religious state. He also said that PM has stressed the need for working as “Team India” for development.

He advised the CMs of Telangana and AP to work together to promote the interests of Telugu people.

He further told that learning English is essential for getting jobs.

Present in the function were Governor of A.P. and Telangana, Mr. E.S.L. Narasimhan, CM of Telangana, Mr. KCR, Union Minister of State for Labour, Mr. Dattatreya and others.

Mr. Narasimhan hoped that during the tenure of office of Mr. Naidu, Rajya Sabha will function in a smooth manner. Mr. KCR and Mr. Dattatreya told that it is a matter of pride for the Telugu people that Mr. Naidu occupied the second highest position of the country.
