NEW DELHI: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Wednesday issued a significant statement and asked the government should enact a law to acquire the land for construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.
“The government needs to acquire land for the construction of Ram Temple and make a law in this regard,” the RSS said in the statement.

According to The Indian Express reports, the RSS sahsarkaryavah Manmohan Vaidya said, “The Ram Mandir is not a matter of Hindu or Muslim. It is neither a matter of Mandir and Masjid. The Ram Temple in Ayodhya is about national identity (asmita) and national pride.”

Vaidya further added that when the generals of Babar invaded Ayodhya, they destroyed the Ram temple. “It wasn’t the case that there was no land in Ayodhya to offer namaaz. Land was plenty, and Babar’s generals could have built a mosque to offer prayers. However, the truth is that they destroyed the Ram temple,” Vaidya said.
He further recalled how during the tenure of former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Somnath temple re-rebuilt in 1951 and former President Rajendra Prasad himself participated in the ceremony of “pranprathishsthan”
“Just like Sardar Patel got Somnath temple rebuilt, the government should acquire the land and hand over it for Ram temple construction. The Government should make law for that,” Vaidya said.
