Congress member and former Major Industries Minister Dr J Geetha Reddy today suggested to the Telangana government to develop Hyderabad into a research center.
Talking on new industrial policy introduced in Telangana Assembly by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today, she said the policy should attract more investments and new companies. Stating that the Congress brought about a golden Telangana, she asked the CM to transform it into “Diamond Telangana”. Geetha Reddy said the State should witness a fast industrial development on the basements laid by the Congress government.
She also said the previous Congress government had given a boost to small and medium enterprises besides encouraging SC and ST industrialists in the State. The State is No. 1 in bulk drugs sector and Hyderabad is international destination with so many companies, including IT parks. The government should encourage SC and ST industrialists in a big way through conducting awareness camps and workshops, she suggested. There is also a need for avoiding benamis and middle men in this regard, she added. (NSS)
