Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today said welfare and development programs fetched good name to the State government at national level.
At a conference of district Collectors and officials at MCRHRD here on Sunday, the Chief Minister attributed it to the commitment of the officials. “It is with your tireless efforts and dedication at all levels the schemes are getting accolades from many quarters”, KCR remarked. Stating that the industrial policy, water grid, lakes restoration, harithaharam and welfare schemes of Telangana State attracted the attention of the nation, he said he would participate in Harithaharam programs in every district by going on road. nThe Chief Minister directed them to prepare a plan to involve all sections of people, including employees of public and private sector, educational institutions, businessmen, companies and others.
The Chief Minister asked them to make use of Telangana Sanskrithika Sarathi troupes for spreading the message effectively among the people to overcome pollution problem. Through adequate publicity and work with more enthusiasm and effective coordination for achieving the goals, he said.
Stressing the need for spreading greenery through Harithaharm like a people’s movement, KCR asked the officials to involve all sections of the society in pious program of planting saplings. He slammed the previous governments of ignoring greenery and protection of the forests, which will be a priority issue now. When the officials apprised him that 4,213 nurseries are ready with 40 crore saplings, KCR said there is a need for planting 230 crore saplings in all villages, towns and cities. Myriad varieties of saplings should be planted, including fruit-bearing, shade giving, medicinal, decorative, beauty and those that spread and give strength to the soil.
The Chief Minister also asked the police personnel to personally plant saplings as part of their duty. Stressing the need for forming grama haritha rakshana committees, the Chief Minister appealed to all concerned to revive denuded forests by planting suitable saplings. He asked the officials to ensure planting of saplings in all vacant lands like Singareni Collieries lands, police battalions, power generation units, power substations, places of worship and railway lands. He also asked them to utilize the Fire Services vehicles for watering the saplings and launch public awareness program on harithaharam by pasting stickers, relay relevant songs through mikes atop places of worship and RTC buses.
