Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav today directed the officials concerned to make all the arrangements for forthcoming Bonalu festival at Golcoknda Sri Jagadamba Mahankali Temple.
Srinivas Yadav conducted a high-level review meeting with the officials at Secretariat here. He said the famous Bonalu Festival begins with “Thottela” procession from Langar House to Golconda on June 25. He said he will inspect the temple on June 15 and review the facilities provided. The temple should be decorated with flowers and lights to mark the festival. “I will present silk clothes to the goddess on behalf of the State government”, he said. He also stressed the need for coordination among the departments for smooth conduct of the Bonalu – the State festival. The Bonalu should be conducted in a grand manner with all the facilities put in place on time avoiding any sort of inconvenience to the devotees he instructed the officials.
Talasani also said as a large number of people are to flock the temple, the officials should take extra care for providing facilities at the venue such as water, uninterrupted power supply through mobile transformers, mobile toilets, barricading and parking cleansing the premises and fire tenders. To avoid inconvenience to the devotees during night hours, fluorescent lights be arranged at the temple. There shall not be any sort of stampede despite a large number of people used to throng the temple he said and added that tight security arrangements should be made by deploying adequate number of police personnel. Two medical camps and two ambulances and CC cameras for regular surveillance of the festivities be arranged at the temple, he added. Srinivas Yadav also said that Bonalu festival at Golconda will begin on July 2, Secunderabad Mahankali Temple will be held on July 9 and 10, Lal Darwaja Bonalu on 16 and other places. (NSS)
