Chief Secretary SP Singh today directed district collectors to make all arrangements for the grand celebrations of Independence Day on August 15.
At a video conference from Secretariat, the Chief Secretary instructed the district administration to ensure that theĀ August 15 celebrations are conducted in a grand manner. The event should reflect the flagship programs such as Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, Harithaharam, modernizing and revival of land records and other welfare schemes in a big way. The collectors should prepare a plan to conduct distribution of Bathukamma saris beginning inĀ September 20. As many as 90 lakh Bathukamma saris are to be distributed among the womenfolk to mark Bathukamma festival, which is a prestigious program for the government.
For this, nodal officials have to be appointed at district, mandal and village level. Necessary measures should be taken for storing them in godowns and procure them for timely distribution. The Collectors were asked to review marriage schemes Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak and assign the job to Tahsildars to sort out applications based on eligibility and conduct inquiry as part of scrutiny. A separating conference will be conducted on land records which are to be renewed. Geo tagging and protection with tree guards are essential for saplings planted under Harithaharam and the Collectors and other officials coordinate the program for need-based programs to reach targets for green cover expansion.
