Ghaziabad, July 16: A major accident was averted when some vital parts were found missing from the tracks at Sahibabad railway station here, moments before a Rajdhani Express and two other trains were to pass through it.
Around 50 “paddle clips” were found removed from the tracks yesterday just before the Rajdhani Express and two other express trains were to pass through it, railway sources said.
However, a gangman took timely notice of it and informed the station master who then informed the driver of Rajdhani Express, prompting him to apply emergency brakes and stop the train, they said.
All subsequent trains passing through the route were halted and repair work began immediately, they said.
Normal services resumed later in the evening, they added.
