Timely intervention of fire service personnel averted a major fire in a hotel in busy Mall road area here today.
The fire broke out in Combermere Hotel situated in the heart of the city.
Two fire tenders were pressed into service and the fire was doused before engulfing neighbouring buildings, a
fire department official said.
Kitchen equipments worth lakhs of rupees were gutted in the inferno.
