Major change is coming in Hollywood, says Jessica Chastain

New York: Hollywood actress Jessica Chastain, who has been one of the most important and strongest voices in the industry when it comes to talk about the sexual misconduct allegations that has been plaguing the showbiz from some time now, has revealed that “change is coming” in Hollywood and thinks that things will be a lot “better” next year.

The ‘Miss Sloane’ star believes things will be a lot ”better” by next year and urged people to remember that there are many ”good guys” in the industry too, reports Page Six.

While speaking to accept the Chairman’s Award at the 29th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala on Tuesday, she noted, “I want to acknowledge what a difficult year 2017 has been for all of us. Major change is coming. Change is good. Change is needed. Through a joint effort we will make things better. We must be better – and we will. We have sadly heard a lot about the bad boys of Hollywood, but I would like to send some deserved love to a few of the good guys with whom I’ve had the pleasure of working. I am the actor I am because of your grace and guidance.”

The 40-year-old actress has been an outspoken leader and advocate for change, and one of the 300 women who helped launch the new Time’s Up initiative.

Speaking of better, Chastain put a positive light on some members of Hollywood’s male population by listing iconic filmmakers and actors such as Christopher Nolan, Terrence Malick, Al Pacino and John Madden and the late producer-director Dan Ireland, who passed away in 2016.

“We have sadly heard a lot about the bad boys of Hollywood, but I would like to send some deserved love to a few of the good guys with whom I’ve had the pleasure of working,” noted Chastain.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Chastain will be next seen in ‘Molly’s Game’ alongside Idris Elba and Kevin Costner.

Chastain has been garnering praises for her role in the movie and is a frontrunner in the Oscars race this year in the Best Actor (Female) category.
