Hyderabad: The Telangana State Legislature Committee on Welfare of Minorities has made major breakthrough in protection of prime Waqf land in Nizamabad. The Legislature Committee led by Chairman Amer Shakeel visited Dargah Hazrat Saadullah Husaini Bada Pahad on Thursday.
District Collector and officials of Forest Department in the presence of Srinivas Reddy Irrigation Minister of the state belonging to the district have been directed to take measures to include the 711 acre Waqf land in Revenue record as Waqf. Amer Shakeel presented the record available with the Waqf Board in favour of Waqf land and proved the notification of Forest department wrong. He told that the land is recorded as Waqf land in the Kitabul Awqaf of Waqf Board and also in the gazette.
Later Forest Department issued notification claiming the ownership of the land while it doesn’t posses title of the land. Amer Shakeel told that Irrigation Minister Srinivas Reddy admitted that the Waqf land will be included in Revenue record so that the dispute is permanently settled. Members of Legislature Committee Farooq Husain and Altaf Hyder Rizvi besides Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Asadullah Hyderabad were also present on the occasion.
