Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, by adopting a new technology has decided fill the potholes within 90 days on all the roads under GHMC limits. In a bid to make Hyderabad roads pothole free GHMC deployed hi-tech pothole filling vehicles under the initiative `Road Doctor’. The hi-tech infrared road repair system will fill the potholes on the roads within no time to give commuters a trouble free ride, told Hyderabad Mayor Muhammad Majid Husain. He claimed that in a span of 90 days, there would not be a single pothole in the city.
GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar said that the new system can fill potholes even if roads are waterlogged. In earlier system, after filling of the potholes it used to get damaged very early. However with the latest system, the repairs will last for one year.
The latest equipment repairs a pothole in 20 minutes with minimum traffic disruption and with no wastage or excavation while ensuring smooth and seamless permanent patch.
