We don’t find such golden principles and teachings regarding marriage in any other religion, as we find in Islam and in the sayings of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Our religion is very simple and it provides expediency to its followers. If Muslims start performing marriages as per Shariah, it will eradicate all types of evils prevailing in our society such as interest loans, abuse of bride’s family in the name of dowry, rising number of spinsters in the society and resulting problems etc.
In a marriage sermon delivered by Maulana Abdul Qavi in a simple marriage held at Masjid Qaderud Daula, Rain Bazar, he asserted that the pomp and show and extravagance shown in the marriages today are uncalled for. Citing Mr. Zahed Ali Khan’s speech during Du Ba Du programme he urged the Muslims to save themselves from the evil of usury.
Maulana Qavi who languished in jail for 5 months on baseless charges, warned the Muslim girls and boys against waywardness and held the modern technology like internet and mobile for the waywardness in the society.
