Maid found hanging in employer’s house

New Delhi: A teen-aged domestic maid hailing from West Bengal, was found hanging in her employer’s house in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area, police said today.

The deceased, Suchitra (17) was found hanging from the ceiling fan at C-6 Vasant Kunj last evening, said a senior police officer.

The girl hailing from West Bengal, was employed with Rupali Bisht for the last six months. Rupali’s husband Sandeepan Bisht is a software engineer in Pune while she stays at the house with her daughter.

Police said that they are investigating the mater from all angles as the mother of the girl has accused murder of her daughter by her employer as she was privy to some sensitive information about her.

Police said Rupali told them that she had gone to Ambience mall with her daughter while the maid was at home.

When she came back around 5.30 pm they found the door of their house locked from inside and no response.

A window of the house was opened by a contractor working in their neighbourhood and they found the girl hanging with her dupatta from a ceiling fan.

“Proceedings under 174 CRPC has been initiated. Post mortem report is awaited and action will be taken based on it,” added the officer.
