The long-pending controversy over Hyderabadi Rubat at Makkah Mukarramah was resolved on Wednesday. With the efforts of Telangana deputy chief minister M Mahmood Ali a meeting was held at the office of Counsel General of Jeddah in which the matter was resolved paving way to the stay of pilgrims of Telangana at Rubat from the next Hajj season. With this Mr. Mahmood Ali was successful in breaking the deadlock continued for the past two years.
It must be noted that the Hyderabadi Nizam has a capacity of 350 pilgrims. Since the accommodation is free, each pilgrim selected can save around Rs. 40000. The cold war between the Nizam Waqf Committee (NAC) and the Rubat caretaker on the issue of allotment, was depriving the pilgrims of their rightful due.
Rubat caretaker has agreed to arrange accommodation of 600 pilgrims during Hajj season 2015 and 1000 pilgrims during Hajj season 2016.
