Hyderabad: Announcing a novel scheme for the protection of Waqf properties in Telangana, Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said informers who will inform the authorities regarding illegal occupation on Waqf properties will be rewarded appropriately. Besides the government plans to form an advisory committee with the Waqf Board so that key personalities interested in protection of Waqf properties can be included in the committee.
Deputy Chief Minister also announced to soon convene a review meeting in connection with Waqf properties. He pointed out that Chief Minister has recently announced reward to persons who provide information on unauthorised constructions. Similar scheme for the protection of Waqf properties is under consideration. He said there are several thousands of crores of Waqf properties in the state whose revenue could be spent for the development of minorities. He said if any persons finds anyone trying to occupy undisputed Waqf property or begins unauthorised construction, he should inform Waqf Board about this.
Deputy Chief Minister said government alone cannot ensure protection of Waqf properties until its gets people’s support. It is the responsibility of every Muslim to play his role in the protection of Waqf properties.
