Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy today pulled up RTC officials for neglecting to regularize the contract staff (Drivers) in the corporation. About 140 Drivers working in various zones of Hyderabad, Rangaredy and districts, along with TMU leaders, here on Wednesday complained to the minister that their contract services were not regularized despite Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s promise.
Though the RTC has regularized the services of 4500 contract staff, they are denied the same, they bemoaned. Responding to their plea, the minister directed the officials to take immediate steps. He sought to know why they forgot to regularize their services who are working for three years since 2013.
Later the officials informed the minister that they will take necessary steps to appoint them as full timers. Mahender Reddy asked the officials and staff to work in tandem to see that the loss making RTC got more revenues. KCR has allotted Rs 400 crore for strengthening the RTC, he said and asked them to make persistent efforts.(NSS)
