Karnataka Muslim Muttahida Mahaz an apex body of Muslim organization in Karnataka has chalked out its plan to educate masses for better participation in the ensuing parliament election.

Mr. Masood Abdul Khader, convenor of Mahaz has told to Karnataka Muslims that Mahaz had held a meeting of its executive council on March 2, in which it had planned awareness activities to elect good member of Parliament, who can strengthen democracy, work for the welfare of nation and minimize the communal tendencies in politics.

According to its convenor Mahaz will work in coordination with various non-Muslim organizations. “We would be consulting and exploring the possibilities of working jointly to elect good leaders” Mr. Masood said.

When asked to which party Mahaz will support, he said: “during last assembly elections we had supported Congress in majority of the constituencies. During this election we would like to defeat the candidates belonging to parties having facist tendencies. But however our agenda would not be negative. We would also be exploring possibilities to strengthen those candidates and parties who would act as alternate to present corrupt parties and politicians.

Expresses Displeasure

Commenting on present Congress government in the state Mr. Masood Abdul Khader said that the government had promised many affirmative actions for minorities but it could not fulfill many of them.

He also expressed displeasure over Chief Minister not providing time to the delegation of Mahaz to meet him and discuss the issues pertaining to minorities. “I was amazed, why the chief minister is not interested to meet us, it could be due to flaw in the systems,” he commented and added that we have good expectations from the chief minister.Courtesy:Karnataka muslims
