Maharashtra: Seven Naxalites killed in Kalleda forest

Hyderabad: According to recent reports, seven Naxalites have been killed in gun battle against Police team on Wednesday morning in Maharashtra’s Kalleda Forest adjoining Telangana’s Jayashankar Bupalpally district.

The Police team reportedly encountered the Naxalites who were at some 15 km away from the Jimmalaguda police station. Two men and five women have been killed in the encounter. Police suspect few more Naxalites may have been injured in the firing. These Naxalites are believed to belong to the Local Organising Squad (LOC) of Sironcha area.

The Police has recovered several kit bags from the encounter scene.

The CPI (Maoist) is believed to be observing the Martyr’s week starting from 2 December 2 until 8 December which also coincides with the 17th anniversary of People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) formation reports Telangana Today.
