Nagpur, December 21: The Maharashtra Legislative Council today unanimously passed a motion congratulating cricket star Sachin Tendulkar for setting up a new world record of more than 17,000 runs in international cricket.
Tabling the motion, Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal said that Tendulkar has made Maharashtra proud by his scintillating performance in international cricket in the last 20 years.
Tendulkar also holds the world record for the highest number of centuries. Following the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai, Tendulkar had dedicated his 41st century on December 15, 2008 to the martyrs and Mumbaikars.
