Mumbai/Hyderabad, January 22: K Sankaranarayanan and E S L Narasimhan were today sworn in as Governors of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh respectively, kicking off the implementation of change in Raj Bhavan in five states.
Sankaranarayanan, senior Congress leader who was earlier the Governor of Jharkhand, was administered oath of office as Maharashtra Governor by Acting Chief Justice of Bombay High Court J N Patel.
Sankaranarayanan, who brings with him a vast and varied experience in public life after dominating the political firmament of Kerala for nearly five decades, replaces S C Jamir in the Raj Bhawan in Mumbai.
In Hyderabad, E Srinivasan Lakshmi Narasimhan, a former head of Intelligence Bureau, was sworn-in as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh replacing senior Congress leader Narayan Dutt Tiwari who had to quit after his name figured in an alleged sex scandal.
