Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India]: After Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, film producer Karan Johar and other film fraternity met Devendra Fadnavis at his residence, the Maharashtra Chief Minister on Saturday expressed hope that the resolution over the release of upcoming flick ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ row would get resolved soon.
“A meeting was held in regard to the controversy that started with the film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. The meeting of the producers’ guild was held under the leadership of Mukesh Bhatt and some people from MNS. The producers’ guild stated it clearly that when they took the Pakistani artists, the situation was different,” Fadnavis told ANI.
Fadnavis said that the producers’ guild has stated they won’t give way to any Pakistani artistes in regard to the present situation in which they are spreading terrorism in the country.
“They also said that before the beginning of films, the slain soldiers would be given tributes. They also said that they would help army welfare fund to help the families of the soldiers. I think the problem will get resolved soon. Both the sides have spoken about going forward with the idea of patriotism,” he added.
Karan Johar and Dharma productions upcoming movie ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ has been surrounded with controversies which has received threat from the MNS over featuring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.
On October 20, the Film and Television Producers Guild of India member met Rajnath Singh, concerning the release of the movie after which filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt said that the government has assured them to provide security to the exhibitor featuring the movie and will try to maintain law and order.
The movie is scheduled to be released on October 28.
After situation between India and Pakistan worsened, many political parties and that Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) have been demanding a ban on KJo’s film that also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. (ANI)
