Hyderabad: Telangana Mudhiraj Bonala Welfare Association today appealed to Hindu housewives to participate in Maha Bonalu program at Nagamma temple, at Secunderabad clock tower on July 19.
Association president Lingala Pushpalatha said the program will be inaugurated by Rajya Sabha member Dr Banda Prakash Mudhiraj and State ministers will also participate. She said a large number of women carrying Bonams on their heads will proceed from Nagamma temple to Ujjain temple at Mahankali Street in Secunderabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Pushpalatha recalled that one Sureti Appaiah Mudhiraj had started Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu some 200 years ago. She also said the association will organize a program of offering “Pasupu Kumkuma” to goddess at Ujjani Mahankali temple.
