The sticky bomb used in the terror attack on the Israeli embassy car was used for the first time in India and could have been made by foreign experts, a senior police official said.
Delhi Police Commissioner B.K. Gupta said a sophisticated incendiary palm-size device was used in the blast, a first of its kind in a terror attack in India.
“This has been giving officials cause for concern that the bomb was perfectly made and we have never seen such a bomb in Delhi. Maybe, it was made by foreign experts,” said Gupta.
Gupta further said it is premature to say who planted or made the bomb.
Sources involved in the investigation said that sticky bombs and silencer-fitted weapons are the latest tactics being adopted by insurgents in Baghdad and other places.
Sometimes there are several such attacks a day, usually targeting government or security officials with pinpoint accuracy.
The official added that by sticking a small bomb under a vehicle or using a silencer-fitted weapon, the attackers can operate quickly and without drawing much attention to themselves.
“Search for Red bike”BOMBER
Investigators are searching for a red-coloured bike that the bomber used while targeting the car of an Israeli embassy official in a terror attack Monday, Delhi Police Chief B.K. Gupta said Tuesday.
Gupta said police were appealing to the public through the media for information on the bike and if they come across any abandoned red-coloured bike.
The people who man parking lots in Delhi and NCR, including markets, metro stations and railway stations, have been asked to inform police about any suspicious looking bike, especially of red colour, he said.

There is a very strong probability that the attack was carried out at their behest and through their funds but executed by a well-trained militant of Pakistan-based outfit for considerable payment,” said a senior police officer.
However, investigators are in the dark about the identity of the motorcyclist who had stuck the bomb on the embassy vehicle.
Five persons, who own red motorcycles, were picked up for questioning today.
Gopal Krishnan, a resident of east Delhi’s IP Extension area, told investigators he had seen a biker wearing a helmet and a red jacket and riding a red motorcycle sticking a palm size, square shaped whiteish device on the car.
Even as the commissioner ruled out the role of the Indian Mujahideen (IM) in the attack, sources indicated that the attack was executed by operatives of either Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) or Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).

“What I would say is that with regard to this bombing, the incidents in Delhi, incidents in Georgia, while we will await the results of the investigations, these events do come on the heels of other disrupted attacks targeted at Israel and Western interests, including an Iranian-sponsored attack in Baku, Azerbaijan, and a Hezbollah-linked attack in Bangkok, Thailand, before this,” she said.Nuland was responding to questions on the Israeli allegations that Iran was behind the attacks on its diplomats in New Delhi, India, and Georgia.The US, she said, has offered its assistance to India.
“I don’t know where we are in terms of the Indian government taking advantage of that, but we have offered to be of assistance if that will be helpful,” she said.
