Madrassa teacher arrested for chaining two minors for days

Alwar: A Madrassa teacher has been arrested for allegedly chaining two minor students in Alwar district of Rajasthan.

Sahil (14) and Musharff (8) managed to escape from the Madrassa yesterday and reached the Alwar (Junction) railway station with chains in their legs. Onlookers then informed the police, SP Ajay Pal Lamba said on Saturday.

They were freed and handed over to a child welfare committee, Lamba added.

A case against the accused, Maulana Ayub, was registered and he was arrested under the Juvenile Justice Act, he said.

The children have said in their complaint that they were chained in the Madrassa from last few days, the SP said.
Chairman of the Madrassa Board Mehrunisha Tank has ordered an inquiry in the matter.

“The committee of Additional Director Minority department, SDM Alwar and District Minority officer will submit its report in three days,” Tank said.
