Madrasas celebrate Republic Day with patriotic fervour

Hyderabad: Several Islamic seminaries hoisted the national flag to mark the 68th Republic Day. Sporting white kurta-pyjama, scores of young students showed patriotic fervour during the celebration. They delivered speeches on patriotism sang patriotic songs to mark the occasion. A few among the madrasas which unfurled the national flag include, Madrasa Faiz ul Uloom, Ashraf ul Uloom, Dar ul Uloom Sabeel us Salaam in Barkas, the Madrassa Ayesha Siddiqua-lil-Banaat and Jamia Islamia Darul Uloom in Shivrampally.

Mufti Mahmood Zubair, general secretary of the Jamiat-e-Ulama Hind said, Islam stresses on the love for country. Religion is a personal experience and love for the country is collective.

Tri colours fluttered across old city on the 68th Republic Day. Local leaders, social activists and local police officers along with traders and citizens hoisted the national flag to mark the day at several places including Charminar, Shah Ali Banda, Aliabad Falaknuma, Bahadurpura, Yaqutpura, Husaini Alam, Lal Darwaza, Puranapul, Karwan, Tappachabutra, Saber Nagar, Asif Nagar, Murad Nagar, Mehdipatnam, Mangalhat, Begum Bazar, Sitaram Bagh and other areas.
