Madras High Court directs CBSE to award grace marks

Chennai: The Madras High Court on Tuesday has directed the Central Board of Secondary Examination to award 196 grace marks to students who took this year’s National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) examination for medical admissions in Tamil version.

Since 49 questions were wrongly translated in Tamil version, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court’s verdict comes as a relief for the medical students who lost their ranks due to the error in the question paper translation, DNA reported.

The High Court has also asked the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to release new rank list within two weeks.
