Madhya Pradesh: Doctor cuts and dissolves driver’s pieces in acid

Madhya Pradesh: A government doctor has allegedly killed his driver by cutting his body into over two dozen pieces and later put them in a drum full of acid to dissolve them, police said on Tuesday.

The doctor had an affair with the driver’s wife and he wanted to get rid of the driver. He was caught red-handed while throwing the body pieces into a drum full of acid after his neighbour.

The incident took place in Hoshangabad. On seeing the doctor’s suspicious movements on Tuesday afternoon, his neighbour informed the police.

“The accused Dr Sunil Mantri (58), who lives in Anand Nagar, an upscale locality in Hoshangabad, has confessed to killing his servant, Birendra alias Biru Pachauri (30),” said Hoshangabad city superintendent of police Arvind.

The doctor’s wife had died in April 2017, and his 26-year old son and 23-year-old daughter work in Mumbai. He is posted at the civil hospital in Itarsi and used to live alone in his two-storied houses in Anand Nagar, said Saxena.

After his wife’s death, Biru’s wife continued running the boutique alone and he allegedly developed illicit relations with her. Biru got suspicious about their alleged affair and threatened Mantri that he would expose him, police said.

It is possible, that Biru was extorting money from Mantri, adding that Biru’s wife will be questioned in this regard. Mantri decided to kill Biru so that he could continue his relationship with his wife, added the police.

He was arrested red-handed after they received a call about “suspicious activities” at his home. The police officials who arrived at his residence found the doctor very disturbed and spotted blood on the floor.

Mantri confessed of having killed his driver. On further investigation, he revealed that he was planning to kill him for a long time ago and even stored a drum full of acid and hand-saws at his home.
