Madhuri Dixit has bagged the female lead in the sequel to the 2010 film Ishqiya. Vidya Balan, who starred in the first film along with Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi, is no longer part of the project.
However Naseer and Arshad will star in the sequel titled Dedh Ishqiya.
According to reports, Madhuri will be paired opposite Naseeruddin Shah. Arshad Warsi will reportedly romance Kangana Ranaut.
This will be the first time Kangana will get to act with Madhuri. Buzz is that the two have a great off-screen bonding.
Buzz is that Madhuri plays the role of a nawaabi-styled begum who delivers shayaris with ease.
Reports say that the film will be directed by Abhishek Chaubey, who directed the first film. Dedh Ishqiya starts where Ishqiya ended and the shooting is expected to begin from May.
