Kathmandu: Madhesi protesters and Nepal police have clashed in many areas of Janakpurdham over the visit of President Bidya Devi Bhandari to the holy town.
According to The Himalayan Times, Bhandari visited the temple to mark the festival of Vivaha Panchami on Wednesday and returned to the capital, Kathmandu.
Protesters continued the demonstrations even after Bhandari’s departure from the temple.
Police have been using dozens of tear gas shells to disperse the protesting mob.
Earlier, the protesters had also hurled stones at some vehicles escorting the Head of State. (ANI)
