Hyderabad, January 11: A day before the one-day protest programme (Jala deeksha) by former Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy in New Delhi, APCC president D Srinivas said Monday that the Congress high command would act ‘appropriately’ against those (Congress public representatives) who participate in the programme.
Talking to newsmen at the Gandhi Bhavan here, the PCC chief who had failed to issue ‘orders or warnings’ till date to the party MPs and MLAs who have been extending support to Jagan, said the Congress Central leadership had been collecting required information on the issue and would send reports to the AICC.
It was not proper for the members who got elected on the Congress ticket to act against party interests. “If the party representatives decide to go to Delhi (to take part in Jagan’s Deeksha) it will be definitely treated as anti-party activity,” he warned.
Referring to the Srikrishna Committee report, Srinivas said he would not give priority to the report as it was only a ‘study report’. It was not proper to form an opinion based on the report that it was in favour of or against a particular region.
