Separate Telangana movement was the movement against exposition and injustice. The downtrodden communities have hopes from the movement; especially those communities who were subjugated in a planned manner; Muslims top the list. Social activist, Chairman Telangana Resource Centre and Vice president Telangana Praja Front Mr. M Veda Kumar told this during an interview. He said parties in power must be serious to resolve the problems faced by oppressed classes. The promises made by the governments, regional and local parties to change the condition SCs, STs, BCs and Muslim minority must be fulfilled.
He asserted that during Telangana movement before 2004 elections TRS had announced reservations to Muslims proportionate to their population. During 2009 elections TDP TRS alliance announced in their manifesto to provide reservations to Muslims proportionate to their population. Besides this during 13 years of his Telangana struggle TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao had promised 12 pc reservations to Muslims. Mr. Veda Kumar claimed that not just 12 pc but the Muslims should be provided reservations proportionate to their population. He also stressed the need of a separate sub plan for Muslims in the proposed Telangana state.
Muslims were harassed in a planned manner after country’s partition, operation polo and police action as a result they were forced to flee from Telangana leaving precious lands of lakhs of acres. Said Mr. Kumar.
