Sending a letter to Chief Minister of Telangana KCR, leader of opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mr. Mohammed Ali Shabbir demanded to convene an all party meeting to review the Supreme Court hearing on 4 percent Muslim reservations and to prepare future strategy. In his letter Mr. Mohammed Ali Shabbir claimed that government was not sincere over 4 percent Muslim reservation as Telangana government did not send any advocate to follow up the 4 pc Muslim reservation case followed by the constitutional bench of Supreme Court. A constitutional bench has been constituted comprising of Justice T.S. Thakur, Justice Fakkir Mohammed Ibrahim Khalifullah, Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde, Justice R. Banumathi and Justice Uday Umesh Lalit.
Chief justice had enquired about the absence of Telangana government’s representative during the hearing on February 29.
Mr. Shabbir said that he along with noted legal expert former Union Minister Salman Khurshid and members of his team, Shakeel Ahmed Jameel and Parvez were present during the hearing. Senior council PP Rao represented Andhra Pradesh government, M Ahmed and Krishna Mani represented B C Commission but no one represented Telangana government. Mr Shabbir reiterated that he had repeatedly told that Telangana government was not sincere for 4 pc Muslims reservations.
