Congress MP (Rajya Sabha) M A Khan has claimed that effective implementation of Minority Welfare Schemes has become impossible due to absence of permanent Principal Secretary for Minority Welfare Department and lack of coordination between high officials of Minority departments. He told that chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has made the minority budget more than double at Rs 1.027 crore from Rs 488 crore provided last year and also increased funds of various schemes. Besides, standing committees have been formed in the assembly for the first time on par with the parliament.
However due to absence of permanent Principal Secretary for Minority Welfare Department and lack of coordination between high officials of Minority departments, implementation of Minority Welfare Schemes has become impossible. He demanded that the chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy convene review meet on minority development every month.
