Congress MP (Rajya Sabha) M A Khan has been elected unopposed as the member National Shipping Board.
Mr. M A Khan the senior Congress leader belonging to Andhra Pradesh state is counted among disciplined members of Congress. He not only attends Rajya Sabha meetings without break but also respond to various issues.
He had been nominated for National Shipping Board membership by the Congress High Command but he has been elected unopposed. This has been reported in the Rajya Sabha bulletin on August 23. Mr. M A Khan has thanked party president Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his selection and said that he would try his best to fulfill his responsibilities.
