Congress MP (Rajya Sabha) M A Khan welcomed the appointment of P Laxmaiah as the president of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee and asked Congress high command to give ticket to atleast one Muslim leader from each district of Telangana. He told this while speaking to media persons at assembly premises.
Mr. Khan said Congress president Sonia Gandhi who conceded to the 60-year-old demand of Telangana, has shown social justice while forming Telangana Pradesh Congress and other committees, because while P Laxmaiah has been appointed as president, Uttam Kumar Reddy has been appointed as acting president.
He advised Congress high command to instill fervour in Congress cadre, by giving proper representation to weaker sections and youth community, apart from fielding one Muslim candidate from each district.
