Los Angeles: Actress Lupita Nyong’o is in negotiations to star in a sci-fi thriller “Intelligent Life” with “Selma” helmer Ava DuVernay eyed to direct the project.
To be made under Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, the script of the movie is written by “Jurassic World” director Colin Trevorrow and his collaborator Derek Connolly, said The Hollywood Reporter.
Frank Marshall is producing with Trevorrow as well as production banner Big Beach.
The film is a reworking of an earlier Trevorrow-Connolly project titled “The Ambassador,” that revolved around a UN worker in a department that was created to represent humankind in the event of alien contact. The man falls in love with a mysterious woman who turns out to be an alien.
The 32-year-old Oscar-winning actress will play the woman at the center of the alien contact.
