HYDERABAD: The famous Lucknowi Chikankari work suit is at display in the 77th All India Industrial Exhibition in Hyderabad.
The chikan products are in great demand for quality product and its uniqueness and attractive for the customers. One such stall is Nafees Chikan Center located at Numaish.
Proprietor Khursheed Alam said that that Chikankari is a traditional embroidery art form of Uttar Pradesh which requires minute craftsmanship and is believed to have emerged during the Mughal Era.
The handicraft form of UP, which is also popular, it has been included in the Geographical Indication (GI) goods category under the Intellectual Property Right.
With the GI certification, no person other than manufacturers and craftsmen from UP will be permitted to use or sell their products under the brand name Lucknow chikan.
