Mumbai, July 30: Guess what was one of the biggest reasons that led to the downfall of LUCK? An outrageously hilarious epilogue around Imran Khan’s heart being on his right side instead of left that totally and truly succeeded in putting off audiences. In fact this scene contributed in a major way to really kill the film which was reasonably engrossing till its interval point at least.
In any case, the fact remains that LUCK has been rejected and a full fledged joke book around the film seems to be round the corner. After RAM GOPAL VARMA KI AAG and TASHAN, if there is a film that has become a butt of joke for the industry as well as common man alike, it is LUCK which is being considered to be a readymade recipe of unintentional humour that could liven up the dullest of evenings.
LUCK Movie Review
Yet another biggie has fallen on its face with LUCK, which was pretty much touted to be the next action hit in the offering, turning out to be a disappointment at the box office. Though the film opened well on Friday, collections pretty much remained the same over Saturday and Sunday instead of showing any upwards trend. This isn’t really heartening considering the fact that a) the film boasted of number of top stars and b) the film had been given a major release.
In fact Soham Shah’s debut directorial venture KAAL had seen a much better opening and though on absolute terms, it’s collections were lesser than LUCK, on a relative scale that doesn’t count much since the film had released on lesser prints and ticket rates were much cheaper as well. Also, the weekend collections of the film were quite strong then, the credit for which goes to super hit number ‘Kaal Dhamaal’ (picturised on Shah Rukh Khan and Malaika Arora Khan).
Coming back to LUCK, the film had all going for it but after a heartening first few shows, negative word of mouth spread soon after, courtesy some mind-puzzling dialogues, unbelievable situations and a totally laughable climax. With the film failing to bring in audiences over the weekdays and LOVE AAJ KAL all set to take over audiences attention coming Friday, LUCK is all set to be second consecutive poor box office show for the combine of Sanjay Dutt and Imran Khan after KIDNAP.
