LTC scam: Court grants bail to ex-Rajya Sabha MP Mahmood A Madani

New Delhi: Former Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Mahmood A. Madani was today granted bail by a special court here in connection with the Leave and Travel Concession (LTC) scam, for allegedly causing a loss of 5.75 lakhs to the exchequer by submitting wrong claims.

District session judge Anju Bajaj Chandni directed Mahmood Madani to furnish a personal bond of Rs 50,000 for bail.

According to reports, Madani’s former personal assistant Mohd. Mubashir also got bail on the same amount in the same case.

The case will be heard next on March 29 for Scrutiny of the documents.

Earlier, the Central Bureau of Investigation ( CBI) court took cognisance of the charge-sheet filed by the CBI against Madani, a Rashtriya Lok Dal leader from Uttar Pradesh, and Mubashir and asked them to appear before the court.

CBI had lodged a case against Madani and Mubasir in 2014 under various provisions of IPC and PC Act for allegedly claiming travel reimbursements on forged bills. (ANI)
