Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung meets Rajnath Singh

Lieutenant Governer Najeeb Jung today discussed the rise in the price of onions and potatoes in a meeting with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

“All measures are known to us, as the investigation is on from the last two months. The government is aiming to open 300 new shops, 60 mobile vehicles are already running, and Safal has increased its quantity,” said Jung.

When asked about the presence of Delhi Police Commissioner in the same meeting, Jung refused to comment on his role in the matter.

Nashik accounts for one of the biggest onion markets in India. Following a strike in the state led to the inflation in food. It was pushed from 8.64 per cent in April to 9.50 per cent in May.
