New Delhi, January 13: Facing action for his role in the Darjeeling land scam, a Lt Gen today proceeded on a 10-day leave, even as the government said Army chief General Deepak Kapoor would take action against all four senior officers involved in the proposed sale of the civilian estate.
Military Secretary Lt Gen Avadesh Prakash, against whom the Army initiated administrative action yesterday, went on leave, just a fortnight ahead of his retirement on January 31, Army officers said here.
“Lt Gen Prakash has taken leave for ten days beginning yesterday,” they said amidst speculation that he was asked to proceed on leave by the Army chief.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister A K Antony told reporters here that Kapoor would take “some disciplinary and administrative action” against the tainted Generals and that he had sent a report in this regard to the Ministry last night
